To all the people who are wondering what the heck do I do other than photography. I actually have a day job. Photography came about as a release apart from the day to day grinds of the corporate world and taking care of my family. Not that they aren't important, but I am a true believer in pursuing what your dreams are. I always tell that to my 3 older kids and would hope to share that someday with my little girl Naomi who is only almost 7 months old.
But yes, I am busy. Where do I find the time? I don't find time.. I have to make time. It means having sleepless nights and just simply saying no to some things. Ok let's put it this way..... I'm busy. I have a baby, my older daughter competes in gymnastics (she's going to states in a couple of weeks and as many gymnastics parents know it's a lot of commit on the parent's part as well), my youngest son does Karate and joining little league and basketball soon and I have a preteen son who's turning 12 who chooses to defy my husband and I every step of the way. But I know many mothers face worse circumstances.
Despite the craziness, I am still pursuing my photography. It's what gives me "ME" time. I am a true believer that you can be a mother involved in your kids lives, your husband's career, your church, your career and still be functional.
I try not to go 100 miles an hour in life, but how can you not? I do recognize that I need downtime and trust me... I take full advantage of it.
So what does this ranting of mine have to do with photography? Well... it's really more about balancing your time. I guess that's why I'm so drawn to photography. It's a way to make time stay still no matter how fast you're going in your life.
Don't miss those moments just because you're busy like me.
